Scorthy Champ
MEHMAS x FIDAAH (New Approach)
£8,500
New in 2026
Group 1 winning son of MEHMAS OUT OF MULTIPLE STAKES PRODUCER FIDAAHA.
Scorthy Champ
An impressive winner of the Group 1 Vincent O’Brien National Stakes, Scorthy Champ was a standout juvenile, defeating future Classic winner Henri Matisse with a devastating turn of foot. He also won on debut at Leopardstown, beating future Group 1 winner Hotazhell.
He ended the season officially rated 117, making him one of the highest-rated two-year-olds of his generation to retire to stud in the UK for 2026.
A physically imposing individual, Scorthy Champ boasts an elite pedigree rich in black-type performers. His dam, Fidaaha (by New Approach), is the dam of four winners from four runners, including Malavath, a multiple Group 2 winner and dual Group 1 runner-up, and Knight, winner of the Group 3 Horris Hill Stakes.
Combining top-class performance, pedigree and physique, Scorthy Champ offers a highly commercial opportunity for breeders.
Pedigree
He is a very well bred colt that I loved from the early stages and was hugely impressive on his debut at Leopardstown beating subsequent Group 1 winner Hotazhell by four lengths. He went on to become the highest rated two year old in Ireland, defeating a class field, including classic winner Henri Matisse in the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh. His exceptional pedigree, precocious ability and willing attitude mean that he is a great commercial option for breeders.
